WELCOME

WELCOME to the Take Joy Society. We are a group of ladies who first met because of our love of Tasha Tudor's art and lifestyle. We are broadening our focus to include other artists/writers/people of interest who embody Tasha's philosophy to Take Joy in all the good that life has to offer. Here you will find a record of our get-togethers and resources to help you see that the gloom of the world is but a shadow so that you, too, can Take Joy by Creating Joy in your life!

Amazing Tablescapes 2024

The Take Joy Society (in attendance were Cathy, Chris, Carol, Marilyn, and Cindy) met at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts to view this year's Amazing Tablescapes 2024 Fundraiser.  There were 17 tablescapes this year.  Our Cindy contributed once again.  To better see the details of each exhibit click on each photo to enlarge it.

The tables are set up in the museum's atrium. . .

Cindy's tablescape is another welded sculpture that will go into her garden after this week. . .

Here she is explaining what the dragon is made up of....a variety of metal parts including railroad spikes, mixing bowls, plumbing and automobile parts, even a set of canisters used in its tail.  Scattered around the dragon is the treasure she is guarding. . .

The table settings contained the names of dragon slayers down through the ages.

To view more photos of all the entries go HERE.  Once there click on the boxes under "2024 Entries."  You can vote on that entry to raise additional money for the museum.

Carol had to leave early so she missed having lunch with us at Brooke's House Coffee & Chocolate shop.  Click HERE to see why this place is so special.  Scroll down to the bottom of the shop's website to watch the story of how Brooke's House came to be and the role the Coffee and Chocolate are a part of it.
