🎶We Wish You a Merry Christmas🎶
The Take Joy Society got together yesterday for a Christmas Tea at Carol's house. Here is her lovely table set for our festivities.....
She has quite a collection of carolers given to her as gifts over the year from her family....
There were several other displays of Holiday cheer....
Plating up our courses in the kitchen....
Carol lit the advent candle. This week's is JOY!
Then she read a selection from Family Celebrations - Prayers, Poems and Toasts for Every Occasion...
We started with Chris's Thai Chicken Coconut Curry soup (see recipe below)....
This from Chris: I made this soup ahead of time once and made the mistake of adding the spinach, cilantro, lime ahead of time when I first made the soup. It still tasted as good but when I heated it up the spinach and cilantro had lost their bright green color and it is so much prettier a presentation when you add them right before serving so even though wilted they retain their color. All other suggestions in parentheses are from the author. Also, you may want to start out with one tablespoon of curry paste to see if you want to make sure it's not too spicy for your tastes.

Carol also had fruit tarts for us, but at this point we all decided we'd take ours home because there was more to come!.....
For our last course Carol provided homemade shortbread cookies to go with this Peppermint Bark gelato.....
Gifts were exchanged....Christmas cactus, Gingerbread Man ornament and chocolate tucked into the basket, Gingerbread Men cookies, mug rug....
European Cypress and Joy ornament....
Hand-painted boxes...
A vacation photography calendar....
We all had a delightful, fulFILLING time together, not only in body but in soul!
We Wish You a Merry Christmas!
