WELCOME

WELCOME to the Take Joy Society. We are a group of ladies who first met because of our love of Tasha Tudor's art and lifestyle. We are broadening our focus to include other artists/writers/people of interest who embody Tasha's philosophy to Take Joy in all the good that life has to offer. Here you will find a record of our get-togethers and resources to help you see that the gloom of the world is but a shadow so that you, too, can Take Joy by Creating Joy in your life!

Tea in Mechanicsburg

The Take Joy Society met at Carol's and rode up together to Mechanicsburg, PA to take joy in having a tea luncheon at Sweet Remembrances....

Since we haven't been getting together as often as we used to, the drive up and back and time there was a chance to get caught up on each others' lives.  The tea room was quaint and the food delicious.....

Our meal started with our choice of tea from a variety of teas, each of us receiving our own pot of selected tea.  Then our server brought out a salad with poppy seed dressing with strawberries....

Next came the tea sandwiches and desserts....

As well as radish sandwiches on a cucumber filling....

Chicken salad and egg salad sandwiches seasoned with herbs and broccoli quiche....

Two kinds of scones with jam and cream....

Plus a cookie, fudge, and fruit-filled bar cookie.  Everything was delicious!  We could request a different pot of tea for dessert so I chose one of the flavored teas....

There were three rooms filled with teapots and cups and saucers....

Tea and herb-themed art....

Next door was a Tea Shop called The Rosemary House....

Here you can find just about anything imaginable to do with tea and herbs as well as fairies.   They hold many events throughout the year including a Fairy Festival in September....

We visited the rear garden behind the Tea Room on our way to the parking lot.  Being February there was nothing in bloom, but there was still plenty of interest such as the "teapot" tree....

This was a memory garden for the owner's departed mother who had begun the Tea Room in 1968....

It was a lovely day for an outing with friends over a pot of tea and delectable food--Sweet remembrances, indeed!
